Touchy Subject
Lately, I have been thinking a lot. A lot about my own sin and some things I have also observed. It is no secret that I am not where I need to be spiritually and a lot of that is due to my own laziness and sin. I need to be a better husband and spiritual leader.
Now that I have shared with you my short comings I will share what I have observed.
Also lately, I have noticed more and more people...

I hate it when I’m sick and can’t workout. I sometimes hate to workout. Life is bittersweet like that.
I foresee me acting like this when I am a dad one day.

In My D-fence
Concerning my recent social media posts on the topics of Tebow, Scripture, and Alabama I think it might be time for me to explain myself, although I hate it that I should have to.
As a Christian some of the things I am called to do are:
Love my enemies. (Matthew 5:44)
Spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
Not to tear down but to build up. (Ephesians 4:29)...

I'm Back
So it looks as though I have been MIA lately. Sorry for that. I did a lot of traveling for work during September and October but other than that I have no excuse. So to all my faithful readers (Hi mom and Katie), I’m back! We will see for how long. I would say that a lot has happened since my last post.
On October 6th several of us went to see U2 in Atlanta and we were 5ft, if not closer,...

Trip Through Your Wires
I would have to say that I am thoroughly impressed by the numbers revealed in this video. It makes me think that the embracing of, and figuring out, the influence of social media on consumers might be the ticket out of this recession. Take a look:
For the record, I am still on Twitter and loving it. You will no longer see my feed on this blog because I have made it private. No one needs...

Some Days Are Better Than Others
My wife and I have gotten into this habit every Saturday morning of watching Property Ladder on TLC where people attempt to flip houses. We thoroughly enjoy watching people’s stubbornness and complete disregard for professional advice to see if they succeed or not. My how times have changed. Walk with me for a second down memory lane. There have been numerous occasions I have checked out...
Beautiful Day
It is a beautiful day indeed. My dad has a blog. He has had it for a few months now and he does a lot better job keeping up with his than I do mine. You should def check it out. His writing is pretty witty. I mean, just check out his bio on his blog. Here is a screen capture of the bio. Def check out his blog. Click HERE. His first post is the toast he gave at my rehearsal dinner and a lot...

Walk On
After traveling to Chicago where people seem to walk everywhere and my times in the airports during my travels, I figured I would post some helpful hints on walking etiquette. Trust me, this is needed.
When walking in crowded areas you should adhere to similar guidelines as when you do driving. Always walk on the right side. This keeps if from looking like an old war scene where the battle...
The Wanderer
Last week I got the privilege of going to Chicago for a conference pertaining to work. In the days leading up to the conference my boss and I were trying to figure out what we were going to do with our free time. We both had been to Chicago and done some of the tourist stuff so we were looking for something a little different. Jokingly, and half serious, he came in to my office and suggested...
I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight
I think it is time for a list of “likes” and “dislikes” from yours truly. Likes:
If you have not seen the movie Up then stop what you are doing and go see it ASAP.
Dunkin Donuts coffee from the Dunkin Donuts store. They add just the right amount of cream and sugar. Amazing!

Stories For Boys
A coworker of mine is in Boston for “work.” He somehow managed to convince work to send him to a ridiculous workshop which just so happened to be going on the same time as the Yankees / Red Sox series. Coincidence? I think NOT! Anywho, he texted me this afternoon and it was just so good that I have to share. It is mainly the last 3 messages that you see on the bottom. [caption...

Yahweh
I know I might be going a little overboard on this whole U2 thing, but I feel as if I said I was going to do something then I should do it. So I am going to continue titling my posts with the name of a U2 song until I see them in concert on Oct 6th. I am trying to make the song title match the subject of the post as best I can. You can be the judge of how I am doing. Here is a really cool...

Out Of Control
Oh where to begin. Last night was an interesting one. Since it is the end of the school year for most high schools my job requires/allows me to go to certain schools to present scholarship award certificates to some very bright students in some very interesting places. Yesterday afternoon I loaded up the school minivan and headed down to Enterprise, AL. Since a tornado destroyed their school...
When I Looked At The World
Almost two years ago my dad let me borrow one of his antique cameras that he had in storage (thanks dad!). It is a twin-lens reflex(TLR) camera that only takes 120 film. While 120 film only lets you shoot 12 pictures per roll I have to say that it is kind of addicting once you get some good shots back. The camera looks like this:
A few weeks ago the husband of the duo that shot my wedding...

This guy says it so well. We take so many things for granted and have no patience for anything that inconvenients us. He is also very funny. (Be Advised: The videos that youtube linked after the original contain some cursing. The intended video is very innocent)
Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
[Disclaimer: For a while I might be using U2 song titles in the subject line of posts. I am pretty sure I can do this and have the song title pertain to the actual topic of my post. Let’s find out together.]

Pick up your February edition of Birmingham Magazine, flip it to the “Currents” section and guess who you will find? Me! I guess Twitter can come in handy because I met a writer for the magazine through it and we chat about music finds. She sent out a tweet asking if anyone loved music and I of course replied. Thus allowing me to write a quick excerpt on what I was currently...

A Quick Update
It is wedding month people. We are at t-minus 18 days and counting. We got the marriage license this morning. All that is left is meetings with the various people who will make it all happen. Yesterday I got a new cd. The band is called “Passenger” and their cd is incredible. The samples on that iTunes gives you really don’t do it justice. I sampled it a few weeks back and...

Putting Christ back in to Xmas.
Just a few quick points while I have internet. I read this article this morning on USA Today. One of the authors they quote, Michael Horton, wrote an incredible book on Reformed Theology which is the only book that has ever brought tears to me eyes. Am I a nerd when a book on theology is the only book to ever make me cry? Anywho, it is an article that points to the fact that Christians are...

Twitter Twyout: Day 8
So I am just over a week into my test drive of twitter. I have found it to be more interesting than Loopt which is an iPhone app that lets you share your location along with what you are doing. Twitter does this as well, but more people use it. The key to twitter’s success in my life is going to be the number of followers I can get. The fewer I have the less interesting it is. As of...

Man-Crush Revealed
I think it is about time I said it, but I have a man-crush on Stephen Colbert. It’s okay, Katie knows. You may have seen his show on Comedy Central called The Colbert Report. Only, you don’t pronounce the t’s at the end of either of the two words. His show is mainly a politically driven satire that pokes fun at high profile political news experts. Colbert plays a right-wing...
Twitter Twyout: Day 2
It is now day two of my Twitter twyout. So far I think I have completely decked out all two of my technological devices. For my phone I have polled friends and tested different apps. As of right now I have decided on Twitterfon. It is a free app that is not ad supported, which means it is nice and clean, that does a fairly nice job. Now I can send tweets without it being a text message. A...

Twitter Twyout
I am not sure I understand the Twitter phenomenon so to better understand I figured I would jump in with both feet. First of all, hardly anyone reads this blog anymore because I have been slacking on my posts and I am not sure if I had many readers anyways, but I type on anyways. Also, for me, Twitter seems like it is the perfect tool for feeding the narcassistic in all of us. I mean, who cares...

The 2 Holidays I Don't Really Care For
I am probably going to hear from some people that will totally disagree with me on this but I am just going to say it anyways. I am not a fan of Halloween or New Years Eve. There, I said it. I can’t take it back. Actually, I probably could but I won’t. I am not a hater. In fact, if you love either one then I am happy for you. Personally, the two do not live up to the hype that is...

Autumn is fast approaching
So not only is autumn a commonly misspelled word for most elementary school children, it also right around the corner. In fact, it will be here next Monday at 11:44:18 A.M. EDT. Just to give you an idea of the implications of this fast approaching season here is next Monday at 11:43:52 A.M. EDT compared to 11:44:18 A.M. EDT.
